There are no major centres in the Township, but you'll find plenty of shopping and dining in King City and Nobleton.King City residents are served by more than 190 local businesses, many of which are clustered around King Road and Keele Street. Nobleton is near the Township's western boundary, with many of its 100-plus businesses in proximity to Hwy. 27 and King Road.

Schomberg is a smaller community of 2,500 in the northwest quadrant of King. Like King City and Nobleton, it offers a unique main street shopping experience, with specialty stores, antiques, small restaurants, pubs – and a unique café.

It is also home to the Schomberg Agricultural Fair, Canada's longest running fair. Their annual Main Street Christmas is another must-attend.

More commercial development, an expanded mix of retail and restaurants, can be expected in King City and Nobleton. King Township offers many opportunities for recreation, hospitality, agro-tourism and equine. Central to this is an abundance of farmland and natural areas. King takes in more than 60 percent of the Holland Marsh, “Ontario's salad bowl.” And it has more than 8,000 hectares of forested lands, accounting for nearly 25 percent of its geographic area and more than 20 percent of all forest cover in York Region.
